Centaur Construction is proud to have successfully delivered the initial works package at Newbarn Green, an exclusive development of beautifully designed homes for our valued client, Mersea Homes.

Working as Principal Contractor over a 20-week programme, our team managed every stage of the project, including:

Stripping and stockpiling 15,000 m2 of topsoil for future re-use.

Installing 500m of adoptable drainage, alongside 400 m of service trenches for utilities.

Formation of 950 m3 attenuation basin and headwall outfall.

Constructing 1,000 m2 of adoptable carriageway to serve the new development.

The final six weeks focused on the challenging delivery of 200 m of offsite foul water drainage through the heart of Great Tey village. This required careful planning, collaboration with Essex Highways, and regular communication with local residents to minimise disruption.

With the infrastructure complete, we handed over a fully prepared compound, enabling Mersea Homes to begin the next phase of building the homes themselves.
