Scope Of Work
Maidenfields is a mixed-use development of 1,150 new homes, a primary school with pre-school facilities, a village centre with shops, pub, and community hall along with an extensive green space.

Our works start with a 2,000m2 topsoil strip, followed by construction of the first 50m of adoptable roads and sewers. The storm water flows through pipes up to 600mm diameter into a new 200m3 attenuation basin, before discharging into the existing waterway via. a precast HC3 headwall. The foul water will connect to an existing manhole chamber within the site boundary. Careful hand excavation will be required when crossing over the existing foul water runs.

The carriageways, a combination of Local Distributor Roads, Major Access Roads and Pedestrian Priority Crossings will be constructed to full Suffolk County Council specification, finished with a hot rolled asphalt surface course with pre-coated chippings.

Service mains will be laid beneath the new footpath for connection to the future plots, along with connections for temporary builder’s supplies and the installation of an 8m street lighting column.

The sales pod will sit on a bespoke concrete raft foundation, reinforced with mesh and traditional cut and bent reinforcement bars, with pipework and ductwork cast in-situ for drainage and services.

The sales pod is finished with a 365m2 parking area for Taylor Wimpey’s customers, along with extensive soft landscaping using imported BS:3882 topsoil.

We are working to a tight programme of works to allow the sales centre to open on time, with carful co-ordination with other contractors being key to the success of this project.
