McCarthy Stone
Value:
£750,000
Scope Of Work
This new development features 29nr one and two bedroom retirement apartments for McCarthy and Stone in the centre of Great Dunmow, a historic market town in Essex.
We started this project as Principle Contractor, undertaking the enabling works to facilitate the demolition works to begin.
The development is being built on an existing industrial site, and requires the targeted excavation, management and removal of contaminated hotspots.
Ground conditions dictate the whole building footprint requires piled foundations, with a split of cast in-situ floor slabs and traditional block and beam floors. A steep split in levels requires a reinforced concrete retaining wall over 2m high through the centre of the building.
The site is finished with space for parking, constructed using permeable asphalt to aid with site drainage, and soft landscaping to the boundaries.
With access to the site via the buzzing High Street, all deliveries will be closely managed to ensure safe access and egress and minimise disruption to the local residents.
